All about Me : Upcoming Newborn and Family Photographer

Newborn & Family Photographer

A Little  more about me

My name is Angela Langat-McGinnis San Diego’s Newborn and family photographer, a wife,  Mother of two lovely boys and nurse.

Family, Faith and Community are a priority in my life. So it does influence how I show up to my clients.
Here are few things that gets me going!

What fires me up!
  • my morning quiet time
  • A cup of  tea ( Emrok tea from Kenya), coffee, or glass of wine with friends.
  • Morning  Hike
  • Reading or listening to good book,
  • a spa day, pedicure and manicure
  • “mommy night” out dancing!
  • Listening or dancing to African and reggae music
  • Good, honest  conversation  with God  or friends.
  • camping or vacationing with family and friends
  • Good Fries!

Its Important to me that I surround myself with supportive,  positive , and  growth minded people cause I’m still a work in progress. So here are a few who have and continue to  influence and motivate me in many ways.

 Firstly meet my family

My husband Brandon: He is a great Husband, an awesome Dad, Veteran, Nurse and a gamer. He Looks mean and scary outside, but he is as  soft teddy Bear in the inside.
We met in downtown San Diego, while out dancing one night. We have since been married for 19 years!

My oldest son is 14 years old; He loves sports especially football. He is a quarterback/ safety for his school team. I’m biased because I think he is a handsome sweet young fella (even when is going through his teen moods).

My youngest is 10 years old going on 13, since he  hangs out with the big boys he thinks he is one of them too! He is  such  a character, so loving and generous.

His love is  sports, soccer has  been his favorite sport. When he  is not out excelling in the sport of the season, he is indoors playing cards ,video games or playing  pool.

He enjoys hanging out with his buddies who, have been friends since preschool. They are adorable.

Although the  boys keep us busy with all their sports and activities. I enjoy every moment of it. Some days more than others. They are the reason I started my photography journey. I love
Photographing their journey in all their activities. When not busy, we enjoy playing board games and movie nights as a family. We love eating out and trying new foods. My husband is such a foodie! I don’t mind because he enjoys cooking new recipes for the family!

Secondly  meet my tribe

I’m socially introvert, and sometimes it takes a lot out of me to make friends. So, the few I get to call my friends mean a lot to me. I have made friends with the parents of my boy’s friends.

It’s become a village of “Dynamic Misfits.” We offer a supportive network for one another during times of need, and have spent vacations together!  we were able to quarantine with some of the families during the pandemic,

We cant wait for pandemic to be over so we can plan our next vacation!

My third circle is my work group:

After 20 plus years  of working together we have become one big family.  I work with a lot of great people and I have become very close with a few of them.  They are my confidants and support group. Love you guys.

During  the busy season I also  have a photography team that helps me bring the best experience to all family photoshoots!  Mr. Umali (a.k.a Banjo) brings the fun train and Eileen brings her eyes for details, couldn’t get where I’m without them.

Fourthly my  faith circle:

Through the church and my kids’ school, I have made friends with some incredible ladies, who help keep me grounded in my faith. To  all ladies from  prayer and bible groups! I enjoy your company and all the intellectually stimulating conversations.

Lastly Beyond Me

In my spare time, I volunteer at my boys’ school as the school photographer, and yearbook co-chair with my great friend Eileen!
I  enjoy and love taking pictures of all the children and  love the opportunity to watch them flourish and grow from preschool to 8th grade graduation.

I also volunteer on a board for a great San Diego nonprofit group called Shaping Bright Future.

We raise funds for a schools in Sudan, and scholarships for Sudanese refugees in Kenya and Uganda. To learn more and support this great course  visit –http://shapingbrightfutures.org/#home
