I know it’s March. New goals/ resolutions are normally associated with the month of January.
Unfortunately, the last two months have been messy for me. More like a battle between me, myself and I.
One day, I had a health scare. I thought I was having a stroke. Why would I think that? Well, my mom died of stroke at the early age of 64( confirm). It started when I’d get headaches daily that would last for weeks and at first I assumed that maybe I was dehydrated. My initial thought was to drink more fluids so as to stay above the headaches but then came the chest pains and dizziness.
One evening, as I was carrying out my daily tasks at home, I panicked and drove myself to urgent care and after a few test were done, the doctors ruled out stroke. Despite being relieved , I was still concerned and worried because if it wasn’t a stroke then what? I decided to take time off work to evaluate my life and give my body some rest.
Fast forward to now. I still get headaches and feel dizzy but now it’s become my norm. I’ve learnt how to adjust. I don’t panic any more , instead, I seat and meditate for 10-20 mins, then try to figure out what the triggers are. So far it all varies from caffeine, stress, and weather.
This is why March is my new begin. I’m a goal setter and when I don’t achieve my goals, I become very hard on myself. Don’t get me wrong, I’d already written down my goals and created my vision board for 2023 on my phone. I was ready to conquer this year.
However, I’m starting over and one of my new goals is prioritizing self care, only seeking one goal monthly, one weekly and one daily goal instead of three. The goals are as simple as having a daily goal of hydrating more and remembering to honor this new phase of life. Another goal that I’ve set is meditating. It’s been such a learning process and one of the things I’ve learnt this far is letting go and letting the Lord and universe lead the way.
So why share this story? So as to urge each and everyone of you to please take good care of yourself and give yourself grace . Listen to your body.
I now know better but then again Rome wasn’t built in a day! I’m a slow learner (anyone else?or am I alone?😂)I’m taking each day as it comes.
Been recently obsessed with the AI feature. How cool do I look?😂
Thank you for reading and have a great day ahead!
